  3. Set up Instagram Shopping

  4. Connect your Facebook business page.

  5. Request approval.

To better understand the process, let's explore the process step-by-step in more detail.

1. Make sure you're eligible to use Instagram Shopping.

Before connecting your Shopify store with Instagram Shopping, make sure you're eligible to sell products on the platform. Instagram allows sales from certain countries, including Canada and the United States, along with several other countries worldwide. You'll also need to make sure Meta approves your products for sale on Meta-owned social media sites, like Facebook and Instagram. For example, you can't sell digital products because the ability to ship is one of the requirements. Additionally, you must allow returns. 2. Set up a Facebook business page.

Once you've determined whether you're eligible to sell on Instagram, you must set up a Facebook business page and sales channel so that your products will sync with Instagram.

3. Set up Instagram Shopping.

Once you have your Facebook business page set up, you'll come back to your Shopify admin page and click on the Facebook option under the list of sales channels on the left of the page.

4. Connect your Facebook business page.

After you click on Facebook under the sales channels, click on Setup. Look for the Instagram Shopping option and then click on Continue setup. You'll need to link your Facebook business account to continue the setup process.

5. Request approval.

Once you finish the setup process, you'll accept the terms and conditions. Click Request approval and wait to get the final decision. Facebook will review your products and make a decision within 24 to 48 hours.

Set up Instagram Shopping via the Instagram app

You can also set up Instagram Shopping via the Instagram app. First, you'll need to make sure you have an Instagram business account and confirm that your products are on the list of approved items that you can sell on Instagram. You also need a Facebook business account with a sales catalog. If you have all this, you can go to your Instagram profile and click Settings > Business > Set Up Instagram Shopping Link.
